What is EnlightenEd Leadership?
EnlightenEd Leadership is an evidence-informed approach that supports sustainable school improvement. It develops a school culture that prioritises teacher retention, reducing unnecessary workload and supporting teacher improvement in the short- and long-term. It helps leaders and teachers make better decisions that improve pupil outcomes and life chances.
What are the areas of focus in the EnlightenEd Leadership programme?
The EnlightenEd Leadership approach focuses on areas of school leadership that include:
Leadership of change
Quality assurance
Assessment, marking and feedback
The curriculum, including support for children with additional needs
Behaviour
Staff growth and development
Who is involved in the EnlightenEd Leadership Programme?
The EnlightenEd Leadership programme involves the following (although the school will decide which groups or members of these groups will be involved):
Governors
Head Teachers
Senior Leaders
Middle Leaders
Teachers
What is the training programme?
We offer two main forms of the EnlightenEd Leadership programme.
The full programme has regular in-school support and on-site training for staff. The pattern of training is designed around the needs of the school.
The 'lite' programme has cluster training for selected staff, with the option to access more in-school support if required. The training pattern is as follows:
Year 1:
Three full days for leaders: Effective Leadership of Change, Effective Quality Assurance, Effective Assessment
Three information sessions for governors based on the above topics
Up to three full days for teachers based on topics that support improvements in classroom practice
Year 2:
Three full days for leaders: Effective Curriculum, Effective Behaviour, Effective Teacher Development
Three information sessions for governors based on the above topics
Up to three full days for teachers that embed improvements in classroom practice
Accreditation
Schools can become EnlightenEd Leadership accredited schools. There are several levels of accreditation:
Bronze - schools can demonstrate engagement with the programme. This can happen after the first year of engagement.
Silver - schools are peer assessed on the adoption of the approaches and impact that they can demonstrate with the programme. This can happen any time from the second year of engagement onwards.
Gold - schools are centrally assessed on the sustained embedding of the approaches and the significant impact that they can demonstrate on learner outcomes and staff culture and retention.
Platinum - schools, having been centrally assessed are able to meet the standard for 'Gold' and can showcase the work they do and provide support for other schools.
